What would I do without my Discovery Scopes? I use them in my 6th grade class, my
community college gardening class and my methods courses.
I consider the Discovery Scope one of the best products created for the elementary
schools in the last decade. My class is constantly finding new ways to use them from
making their own slides to view beach sand, seeds or plant parts, with nothing more
than a piece of sticky tape, to photographing tiny plant and animal life. It is one
of the most indispensable tools in my science lab and, for the price, also one of
the best values. Keep up the good work and keep me informed about your new products.
Discovery Scopes are GREAT!!

I am extremely prejudiced because I think Discovery Scope is the best thing since
ice cream. It is convenient to use, inexpensive when compared to a microscope, user-friendly
and adaptable to almost any activity in which I would use microscopes. Most important
of all, it provides for hands-on experiences by my students. They are also virtually
indestructible. Discovery Scopes are easy to carry along on field trips. I carry
my personal scope with me in my car. I am always finding a use for it and have given
several as gifts to friends.
I teach Oceanography, Environmental Science, Geology, Coastal Ecology and Earth and
Space Science. My students use their Discovery Scopes to observe plankton samples,
to look at various invertebrate parts during dissections, for classifying sand samples
and comparing organic and inorganic sand composition, fish scale studies, invertebrate
studies and dock studies during field trips. We also use the Discovery Scopes to
observe crystal structures of various elements we study.
I enjoy the ease with which I can set up the Discovery Scope Camera Adapter with
my video camera to show the entire class what they will be looking for when they
use their scopes. I like to have enough scopes so that my students can work independently
or in pairs. I certainly have never been able to afford that many microscopes.

We really enjoy using your Discovery Scopes... They have been a great visual aid to our public education program.

The pond study unit allows students to collect water and soil samples to observe
while using Discovery Scope, a unique hands-on microscope. It also encourages macro-photography
of small organisms using a Discovery Scope Camera Adapter that allows students to
take their own hands-on close-up pictures using either a 35mm SLR camera or video
camera.

This year my school held its first ever science fair and had two projects that made
it to the National Science Fair. Using the Discovery Scope as an integral part of
the project, the two girls identified minute changes in their "product"..Dextrin.
They were able to use their observations to create a most dynamic product that can
be marketed nationally! I hope that you are pleased to know that the Discovery Scope
is used frequently. Its next use is for our grade 5 "Save our Streams"
campaign. Water samples have been taken and observations made - The kids absolutely
love it!

It couldn't be more aptly named. The Discovery Scope really does open your eyes to
a new world of exciting discovery. You can use it simply as a lens. Put the eye piece
firmly against one eye, close the other eye and then move your head towards the object
and wait for the Oohs and Aahs.
Pond dipping takes on a new dimension with small creatures safely swimming in the
viewing chambers. No problems with focusing - the cylinder holding the unit slides
easily backwards and forwards. EXCITING: There are no batteries to run out, it does
not jog out of focus, and it is extremely durable.
Why not compare fingerprints, skin, hair from different people. Encourage students
to look for dirt under fingernails and you will have no trouble getting them to wash
before dinner!
Take a close look at rocks, grains of sand or soil. You will find it useful "in
the field". It is small and robust enough to travel in a handbag and thus it
will enable "on the spot" observations to be made!

You should be pleased to know that within the past year, the novelty of the Discovery
Scope has not lessened. It is becoming known throughout the education community.
IT IS GREAT! I have used the Discovery Scope in two situations. First, with on-board
vessel or field trip situations in which I want to magnify small critters which have
been found--marine education focus. Second, with field experiences in the Amazon
Basin to show insects to the group in a safe manner, such as the Bullet Ant which
may give a serious bite.

I use my Discovery Scope to increase my enjoyment (and my catch) while fly fishing.
It makes it easy to check the hatch and select the appropriate fly. Since I've been
using the Discovery Scope in this way, I out fish anyone in the vicinity!!!
